Club Policies

Mundial Football Academy is fully committed to providing a safe and protected environment for all its students. Our primary goal is to ensure the well-being of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, promoting the prevention of abuse or risky situations of any kind.

PURPOSE OF THIS POLICY

At Mundial Football Academy, we strive to maintain the highest safeguarding standards, fulfilling our legal, social, and ethical responsibilities. This policy is designed to ensure that all staff, whether permanent or temporary, are trained to identify potential abuse and apply preventive measures to protect students and colleagues.

COMMITMENTS OF MUNDIAL FOOTBALL ACADEMY

  • All staff will receive training to recognize the different types of abuse.

  • Every employee will understand and follow Mundial Football Academy’s safeguarding policy.

  • We promote a safe and positive environment that allows students to develop fully.

  • Clear codes of conduct for students and staff will be implemented to encourage mutual protection and responsibility.

RECOMMENDED PRACTICES

To guarantee the safety and well-being of students, Mundial Football Academy staff must follow these guidelines:

  • Maintain an up-to-date record of all students.

  • Conduct activities in open and visible spaces to facilitate supervision.

  • Remain in training areas until students are collected or under proper supervision.

  • Avoid unnecessary physical contact, except when needed to protect students or others.

  • Ensure that first aid is administered by qualified personnel, with another adult present.

  • Avoid being alone with students in any unplanned situation.

  • Maintain professional communication and avoid inappropriate comments or behavior.

  • Report any suspicion or evidence of abuse directly to Pablo or Christian, the safeguarding leads.

  • Avoid socializing with students outside academy activities and do not share personal information.

WHAT IS SAFEGUARDING

Safeguarding means ensuring that children, young people, and vulnerable adults are free from all forms of abuse or neglect. It also includes caring for adults who cannot protect themselves from harm or exploitation.

TYPES OF ABUSE

  • Physical abuse: Intentional harm or failure to prevent harm, including hitting, burning, biting, shaking, drowning, or deliberately causing injuries.

  • Emotional abuse: Actions that negatively affect emotional and psychological development, such as humiliation, neglect, threats, isolation, or exposure to fear or bullying.

  • Sexual abuse: Any forced or induced sexual activity, physical or non-physical, involving a minor, young person, or vulnerable adult. Includes exposure to sexual material, inappropriate comments, or participation in sexual acts without consent.

  • Neglect: Persistent failure to meet basic needs such as food, clothing, housing, supervision, or medical care, resulting in potential physical or emotional harm.

SIGNS OF ABUSE

Physical signs: Unexplained bruises, repeated injuries, damaged or bloodstained clothing, burns, bites, fractures, or inconsistent explanations of injuries.

Emotional signs: Sudden behavior changes, difficulty socializing, distrust of adults, excessive attachment, decline in performance, irregular attendance, inappropriate behavior or language, or signs of early or inappropriate sexual behavior.

HOW TO REPORT A CONCERN

Any staff member or guest coach may raise concerns about a student. Concerns should be reported directly to Pablo or Christian, who will assess the situation and follow the academy’s internal procedures.

Reports can be made by phone, in person, or in writing, and should include:

  • Relevant background information (dates, people involved, events).

  • Reason for concern and any evidence supporting it.

  • The sooner the situation is reported, the easier it is to act and ensure student safety.

MONITORING AND REVIEW

  • This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure compliance with current legislation and best safeguarding practices for children and vulnerable adults.

  • All coaches must read, sign, and adhere to this policy, which will be clearly displayed at Mundial Football Academy facilities.
